Healthcare Science Week has me reflecting on my days as a Biomedical Scientist. It’s easy to forget the profound impact we have, working behind the scenes. Now, as a LIMS implementation SME, I see that impact from a different angle. What some might perceive as “difficult” or “stubborn” in healthcare scientists is, in reality, unwavering advocacy. It’s a refusal to compromise on the tools needed to deliver the highest quality care, even for patients we’ll never meet face-to-face. That dedication, that insistence on excellence, is what truly drives patient outcomes. It’s a powerful reminder that every data point, every test result, represents a life.
